GCC have appointed EG Carter Construction! This is really exciting as from now on things are going to get very real very fast!!!
Ian Brown is our day-to-day contact at Carters and he can be contacted on T: 01452 529194 for any concerns or comments.
They will be moving in the day after the school closes for the summer holidays in July 2010 to set up the site compound and make the whole site safe for when the school re-opens in September. The main school is due for completion and ready to move into in September 2011, and the nursery by April 2011! its going to be fast so hold on!
It is inevitable that there will be disruption to the school during construction [and then demolition and landscaping], but we are all committed to minimising this as much as possible. We will be posting the access proposals as soon as they are definite.

DO YOU HAVE PLANNING OR IS THIS POSITIVE THINKING?
ReplyDeleteHi - we submitted the planning application in February and will not hear until mid-May at the earliest.
ReplyDeleteAppointing a contractor this early on helps speed things up as we will be working alongside them from now until we have cost certainty.
We need to start onsite in the summer holidays so we need to progress things super fast. Carters are aware of the risk of planning permission not being granted.
